24 meters long; a detachable bi-directional vehicle on the IAA
Development for the future
A combined high-capacity vehicle and single bus: HÜBNER GmbH, in cooperation with the Institute for Transport and Infrastructure Systems in Dresden, presented a 24-meter long detachable bi-directional vehicle at the IAA. Depending on the demand, the vehicle can either be used as a bi-directional or, in the detached state, as a single bus. With an additional module, it can even be used as a 36-meter long vehicle. The flexible concept is a reaction to a changed demand behavior, the company states. It can be particularly well applied to the bus rapid transit systems of Latin America and Asia. The concept is modeled after the example of the AutoTram, a previous development of the Fraunhofer Institute.
For the first time, HÜBNER company introduced a product-spanning comprehensive service concept at the IAA. It contains all-around service from phone support for troubleshooting up to supervision, maintenance and the documentation of the systems throughout the whole service life of the products.
Further developments of the articulation systems are also a focus of the company’s presentation at the fair. The company promises increased ease of maintenance, flexibility and attractiveness. For example the easily installed and opened floor cover with exchangeable folding bellows floor enables easy access to the energy guiding systems and the articulation area. HÜBNER company supports an individual appearance for the fleet of buses with a large selection of fabrics for the folding bellows. The HÜBNER stand also features automatic door systems, ramps and lifts, interior and exterior paneling made from polyurethane and safety sensor systems for vehicles.
